Mid-Atlantic Data Justice Collaborative
The Collaborative supported by the Bezos Earth Fund focuses on engaging and activating infrastructure in the Black community including churches, fraternities and sororities, and other organizations to provide neighborhood-level air quality data and address environmental justice issues. Since 2022, we have collaborated with the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) church and United Church of Christ (UCC) to build an air quality monitoring network of 80 Purple Air sensors to measure particulate matter (PM2.5) across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia.
